The cherry tree Bigarreau Burlat has the peculiarity of producing the first cherries of the year, it is part of the early cherry trees among which are the cherry trees Jaboulay, Moreau, and early Bernard to name only the best known.
The harvest usually takes place from the second fortnight of May, depending on the weather a slight advance or delay can be observed.
The fruits
The cherry tree Bigarreau Burlat is known to produce juicy dark red fruits with firm, well-sweet flesh. Burlat cherries are excellent table fruit to consume fresh, but also in pastries or jam. For good fruiting combine the Burlat with other cherry trees such as Bigarreau Van, Napoleon or Reverchon.
Planting
The cherry trees Bigarreau Burlat are deciduous fruit trees that are very resistant to cold, the plants proposed are grafted into the lower stem on Colt rootstocks, this one has been selected because its development is less important than the usual rootstocks, is perfect for small gardens.
