Hibiscus syriacus Lavender Chiffon, an opulent lavender mauve bloom.

Originally from Asia, the Hibiscus syriacus Lavender Chiffon also called Rose mallow Lavender Chiffon is a very decorative deciduous shrub, with a bushy habit, reaching 1.70 m to 2 m in height for a width of 1.50 m. It is characterized by a generous and colorful flowering, offering, from August to October, large double flowers up to 10 cm in diameter, the petals of which have the particularity of being crumpled. The flowers bloom on the shoots of the year, they are a magnificent lavender mauve color and are more or less streaked with purplish red at the base.

The leaves appear late, in May. Trilobed and slightly toothed, they are initially light green and then turn yellow in autumn.

Hibiscus syriacus Lavender Chiffon is planted in any type of soil, even limestone, preferably cool and well drained, located in the sun. It tolerates negative temperatures down to -20 ° C and is drought resistant. Prune it in early spring for optimal flowering.

Planting your Rose mallow Lavender Chiffon isolated in your garden will enhance its decorative aspect and will inevitably attract the eye. In a flower bed or a flowering hedge, it will combine in perfect harmony with other flowering shrubs. It will also work very well in a container to brighten up your balcony or terrace all summer.
