The Spiraea Japonica Anthony Waterer, a flowering that lasts all summer.

Spiraea Japonica Anthony Waterer or Japanese spirea Anthony Waterer is a deciduous shrub with small development, native to Japan and China, which adorns itself throughout the summer with a generous carmine red bloom. Forming a rounded, compact and dense bush of 1.20 m in height for 0.80 to 1 m of spreading, it finds its place in all the same small gardens, that it is planted in isolation, in clumps, in your rockeries or low hedge. It is equally suitable in tub or pot.

The narrow, lanceolate, very decorative foliage of Spiraea Japonica Anthony Waterer is a beautiful coppery red when the buds burst, then tends to a bluish green which turns to orange in autumn. Its abundant flowering in large, slightly flattened umbels made up of small flowers of a magnificent carmine red takes place in June-July. It is renewed in September if you take care to remove the inflorescences as they wilt.

Japanese spirea Anthony Waterer is a vigorous and easy to grow species. It is resistant to cold down to - 20 °C. It likes rich, cool, well-drained soils, preferably in the sun or partial shade. As it flowers on the shoots of the year, it must be pruned severely in March (cut all the shoots to about 15 cm from the ground).

The Spiraea Japonica Anthony Waterer is an essential shrub in a garden because of its ease of cultivation and its decorative aspect.
