Origin England

Originally from England, the Ficus carica Osborn's Prolific or Fig tree Osborn's Prolific is very resistant to cold, it is a variety of biferous fig, whose fruits mature first in July (figs-flowers), then a second times in September - October (autumn figs). Very productive and self-fertile, it offers large caliber figs (around 50 g), excellent when eaten fresh.

From mid-March to May, the flowers appear. They are followed by large yellow fruits with purplish brown reflections, whose pink flesh with a soft and sweet flavor is eaten fresh or in jam.

Small tree with a bushy habit reaching a height of 3 to 4 m and a width of 2 to 3 m, the Ficus carica Osborn's Prolific is perfect for a container culture or for small spaces. Very resistant, it resists cold down to -15 ° C.

Easy to grow, Fig tree Osborn's Prolific is undemanding. It adapts to any type of soil, even poor and dry. But to give the best of himself, he will prefer a deep, light, well-drained soil enriched with humus. Choose a location exposed to the sun and sheltered from cold winds.

Perfect on a sunny terrace or even trellised against a wall, the Ficus carica Osborn's Prolific will give you an abundant harvest of fruits.
