Description
Hedera helix Marginata Elegantissima, magnificent foliage.
The Hedera helix Marginata Elegantissima or White-variegated Ivy Elegantissima is an evergreen shrub with crampons allowing it to attach itself to a support. It can be used as a climbing plant or as a ground cover. This variety of ivy is appreciated for the beauty of its foliage. This is composed of small triangular leaves, in gray-green tones, irregularly variegated with creamy white and highlighted with a pink border more visible in cold weather.
The Hedera helix Marginata Elegantissima flowers from September to October, it has small, very discreet, greenish-yellow flowers, whose nectar is very appreciated by bees. Flowering is followed by small, decorative, blue-black berries that are a delight for birds. Hardy (up to -30°C), resistant to atmospheric pollution, easy to cultivate, the White-variegated Ivy Elegantissima is preferably established in alkaline, cool, humid and well-drained soil, in all exposures, sun, mid-shade and shade (avoid exposure to the burning sun). It is advisable to provide 6 plants per m² to obtain a dense covering.
A space-saving plant with a height of 2.50 to 3 m for a spread of 1.50 m, the Hedera helix Marginata Elegantissima will harmoniously dress your walls and unsightly fences, will perfectly cover the shaded corners of your garden and will garnish nicely elegant your planters.
