Description
Trachelospermum asiaticum, an abundant and fragrant flowering.
Trachelospermum asiaticum, native to Asia, has the same characteristics as the Jasminoïdes variety, except for its magnificent yellow flowering which lasts several months. It is often called Yellow Star Jasmine. A climbing and voluble plant, its evergreen leaves, dark green on the top and lighter below, take a beautiful bronze hue in autumn. From June to August, the Yellow Star Jasmine is covered with small yellow-cream flowers, in the form of propellers, very fragrant. This abundant bloom releases a delicious fragrance that spreads widely.
The Trachelospermum asiaticum, very decorative, is used trellised against a support like a trellis, a fence or a wall. It can also be grown in pots.
This vigorous liana can reach 10 meters in height. Rather resistant, it is cold-resistant up to -15 °C. Not very demanding, it prefers, however, a fertile and well-drained soil, fresh and humus. Located in the sun or half shade, sheltered from the wind, Yellow Star Jasmine develops easily if you take care of watering it in summer.
The most beautiful effect in pots or planters on your terrace, Yellow Star Jasmine can also give birth to a beautiful green wall and flowery. Do not forget the very generous fragrance of its flowers that, in the spring, will embellish your entire garden.
