Description
Sempervivum tectorum, commonly known as common houseleek, is a perennial succulent from the Crassulaceae family, native to mountainous regions of Europe. It is appreciated for its resistance to extreme conditions, such as drought and frost, and its easy cultivation.
This plant forms rosettes of fleshy green to reddish leaves arranged in a spiral. In summer, it produces star-shaped pink-purple flowers on upright stems. After blooming, the mother rosette dies and is replaced by offsets.
