Description
Cornus Florida Cherokee Chief, native to North America, is a deciduous shrub, from the cornaceae family.
Branched at the base, it has a conical compact port that gives it a great ornamental value.
Planted preferably in partially shaded environments, it will offer you a magnificent shades of colors from April to October.
If it is more discreet with its green foliage in summer, the Red flowering dogwood promises you a profusion of pink and red flowers, really spectacular, during the month of april.
With the arrival of the cool autumn days, the Cornus Florida Cherokee Chief dresses its foliage with its flaming red-orange complexions that will reveal their full potential in the heart of a small garden as well as in a large shruberry of earth of heather.
Spreading in cool, non-calcareous soil, the Cornus Florida Cherokee Chief averages 4 meters high and 3 meters wide when mature.
Resistant beyond -20° C, the Red flowering dogwood can stay in the ground even during winter.
If it requires little maintenance, you will still have to remove the dead wood and prune the branches before the return of the beautiful days.
For brightness and elegance reign supreme in your garden, consider associating the dogwood with magnolias, lilacs or Mock Orange.
Plant grafted on Cornus florida.
