Liquidambar Styraciflua is native to the Southeastern United States and Central America, It was introduced very early in Europe because of its remarkable foliage and fragrant balm from its bark, it was used as a chewing gum by the Cherokee Indians.

The Liquidambar Styraciflua Worplesdon is distinguished by its slender and pyramidal port.

Round fruits reminiscent of those of the plane tree then take over to decorate the winter landscape. Also known as American Sweetgum Worplesdon, it has a thick gray bark, deep furrows, its red-brown wood is precious and resembles that of walnut.

With a rather rapid growth, this majestic tree can exceed ten meters in height and is spread over four to five meters in width. The Liquidambar styraciflua Worplesdon enjoys sun / partial shade exposure and does not require any special maintenance. Resistant to cold (down to -30 °C) and diseases, just water it regularly from spring to autumn in the early years. No need to prune it, it acquires its beautiful conical shape in a natural way as it grows.
