Azalea Knap-Hill Glowing Embers or Chinese Azalea Glowing Embers is a shrub of horticultural origin. This vigorous variety blooms beautifully in early May with fragrant orange-red inflorescences with orange spots. It has an upright, bushy habit with dense, dark green deciduous foliage that turns bronze-red in autumn. It is a magnificent subject, easy to grow in the ground or in a pot.
The mature Chinese Azalea Glowing Embers grows to a height of 1.5 metres with an equal spread. It requires a sunny or semi-shaded location and a rich, acidic, cool and drained soil. It is recommended that it be planted in the spring and that the soil be topped up annually with heath.
