The Cercidiphyllum Japonicum, or Japanese Katsura tree, originated in Asia where it can withstand temperatures as low as -20°C. It seduces by the originality of its foliage with its greedy autumnal scents and changing colours which embellish your garden throughout the year.

The caramel scent of its leaves charms the nose of young and old alike. In spring, its slender branches are adorned with young leaves of a pink then green-blue hue before offering a wide autumn palette of orange, yellow and deep red at the end of the year.

The Japanese Katsura tree should be planted in light, cool, draining soil, composed of partially acidic soil, which favours the variation in colour. The Cercidiphyllum Japonicum requires little maintenance and is best planted in a sunny or semi-shaded location. However, gentle pruning at the end of summer will harmonise the elegant habit of this Japanese Katsura tree, which can be grown as a small, elegant tree whose flamboyant beauty deserves an exclusive location.
