The California Lilac Marie Simon, Ceanothus Pallidus Marie Simon from its Latin name, is a shrub with a rounded and compact shape native to North America, which is covered with magnificent flowering in panicles from June to September. Its honey-producing light pink flowers provide a nice contrast with the dark green of its deciduous foliage.
Ceanothus Pallidus Marie Simon produces very dark red branches. Its adult size is approximately 1.50 m with a width of 1 m. It thrives in a sunny location, sheltered from the wind. However, its hardiness gives it good resistance to cold, withstanding temperatures down to -15°C.
The California Lilac Marie Simon is very interested in isolation, but it can form remarkable clumps associated with another variety of Ceanothus, such as the California Lilac Gloire de Versailles. The pale blue flowers of the latter will blend perfectly with the light pink clustered flowering of Ceanothus Pallidus Marie Simon.
