It is especially in spring that this flowering tree reveals all its splendour. Small, simple, fragrant and melliferous white flowers bloom in abundance, forming an aerial cover that illuminates the garden. This early flowering, which occurs in March-April, is a true spectacle of nature. Small decorative cherries will follow that will undoubtedly please our bird friends.
At maturity, the Fuji Cherry Midori Zakura generally reaches a height of 1,5 to 2 meters for a comparable spread. Its bushy, well-branched, dense and slightly rounded shape makes it a very interesting landscaping element.
The foliage of the Prunus Incisa Midori Zakura is just as remarkable. The leaves, oval in shape and finely toothed, are a soft green in spring, then become darker in summer. In autumn, they take on warm hues ranging from golden yellow to orange, offering a magnificent picture before falling.
The Fuji Cherry Midori Zakura is a hardy tree (-20 °C) that can easily withstand the winter temperatures of our regions. It thrives in all types of soil, even chalky, as long as they are cool. A place in the sun or partial shade is perfect for it.
For a successful planting, choose a location that is spacious enough to allow the tree to develop freely. Dig a hole at least twice as wide as the root ball and loosen the soil well. After planting, water generously.
The care required for the Fuji Cherry Midori Zakura is minimal. Regular watering in the first year will allow the tree to root properly. Subsequently, watering will be spaced out and adapted to the climatic conditions. If you want to keep a harmonious shape, you can prune lightly after flowering.
