Description
Buddleia Davidii White Profusion, a profusion of fragrant flowers.
The Buddleia Davidii White Profusion, called White Butterfly-bush is a deciduous shrub native to China and Japan. With an adult height of 2 to 3 m for a spread of 2 m, it offers, all the summer and a part of the autumn, an abundant scented flowering which attracts the bees and the butterflies (hence its name " butterfly-bush ").
Vigorous and hardy, it does not fear cold weather (resistant to -25 ° C) or drought. It can be planted in shrubbery, in hedge or isolated. The White Butterfly-bush prefers light, healthy, nutritious and well-drained soils and enjoys sunny exposure. He is very resistant to diseases.
The Buddleia Davidii White Profusion will seduce you with its port rounded, compact and drooping but especially by its generous and fragrant flowering. From June to September, it is covered with long panicles of about 30 cm composed of a multitude of small white flowers with yellow heart. These give off a sweet sweet scent irresistibly attracting not only butterflies but also insects that feast on their nectar.
To create a bright and harmonious atmosphere in your hedges of flowering shrubs, you will combine the pure white of Buddleia Davidii White Profusion with the pink, purple or violet of other varieties of buddleias. Your shrub will be just as elegant planted isolated and why not in pot.
