The Parrotia persica Persian Spire® or commonly called the Persian Spire®Persian ironwood is a small tree with a narrower port and having a smaller development than the traditional Parrotia. Its port is columnar and it will make you enjoy colorful foliage from spring to autumn, when breaking the leaves, its foliage will appear on purple notes before turning to a bright green with purplish outlines. In the fall, a real blaze will take place in your garden with your tree which will take on warm red, yellow and orange hues. Another decorative aspect: during the winter, its bark exfoliates nicely.

The Persian Spire®Persian ironwood offers a magnificent bloom in spring with clusters of dark red stamens edged with brownish bracts that grow directly on the branches even before the foliage arrives.

Parrotia persica Persian Spire® has a slow growth since at the end of its tenth year it will not exceed 2M50 and it will be necessary to wait for its full maturity to take advantage of its four to seven meters in height and its spreading up to three meters.

Very hardy since it will withstand temperatures down to - 25 ° C and resistant to drought and disease, the Persian Spire®Persian ironwood will be grown as well in a large container on a terrace as in the ground as well as whether in cool soil in the sun or partial shade. To take advantage of all its qualities, an isolated plantation will suit it perfectly but it will also flourish at the bottom of the shrubbery accompanied by cotinus, pieris, caryopteris and choisya ...
