Rhododendron Angelo is an evergreen shrub with a rounded habit that reaches a height of 1.80 meters. It has glossy dark green foliage throughout the year. From the beginning of June, large delicate flowers in fragrant bouquets bloom in pale pink to pinkish-white tones, preceded by intense pink flower buds. They attract bees and other pollinators.
Hardy, the Rhododendron Angelo withstands temperatures down to -21 °C. This shrub prefers partial shade, but also tolerates sun well. A well-drained, acidic soil rich in organic matter will suit it best for optimal growth. Plant Rhododendrons in groups in association with other cultivars of various colours for a particularly striking spectacle! You can also plant it on its own or on the edge of the undergrowth.
Planting and care tips:
Once you have chosen the ideal location for your Rhododendron, dig a large hole so that the roots have enough room to spread out. Amend any heavy soil with organic matter, such as compost and heather plant mix, before planting the shrub so that it can easily absorb water and nutrients. Water regularly during dry spells, but be careful not to overwater, as these shrubs can be prone to root rot if their soil remains soggy throughout the season. During the winter months, add a protective mulch around their base for extra insulation against temperatures. Prune selectively after flowering if desired for occasional shaping and topping of faded flowers if necessary.
