Description
The Rhododendron Junifeuer is an evergreen shrub that grows to a height of about 1.5 metres. It blooms every year from mid-May to early June in clusters of red flowers with a lighter centre, yellow-flamed.
It is very hardy, tolerating temperatures down to -21 °C and surviving the coldest winters without any problems. Place it in semi-shade or under a hazy sun with other heathland plants to create pretty, colourful beds.
To begin with, you need an acidic soil, which is essential for the survival of the rhododendron. To do this, mix a mixture of garden soil, compost and 50% heather potting soil; look for a product specially designed for acid-loving ericaceous plants (azalea and rhododendron potting soil).
Make sure the hole is large enough. When the flowers appear, fertilise them twice a year with slow-release granulated fertiliser. Don't forget to water regularly once the plant is established!
Rhododendron Junifeuer, an evergreen shrub that brings vibrancy and life to any outdoor space. With its bright green foliage and red flowers flamed with yellow, the Rhododendron Junifeuer will not only create an oasis of beauty in your garden, but will also provide year-round interest in the form of evergreen leaves.
