Prunus avium Bigarreau Lapin or Cherry Tree Bigarreau Lapin is a fruit tree of easy culture. This tree is very hardy (down to -20°C), which allows it to be grown in all regions. It comes from a cross of Prunus avium Stella and Prunus avium Van.

The simple, white flowers appear in April. It is a self-fertile variety that can be planted in isolated. The Cherry tree Bigarreau Lapin is a universal pollinator, ideal for the pollination of other cherry trees nearby.

Prunus avium Bigarreau Lapin is a cherry tree with a late harvest. The fruits ripen from early July to August, with an abundant harvest in July. Red and shiny, the fruits have a firm flesh a little sensitive to bursting, with a sweet and tangy taste. They can be eaten freshly picked and are also tasty in jam or in pastries.

The Cherry Tree Bigarreau Lapin is grafted in low-stem on a rootstock of Prunus Colt. It is a disease-resistant variety that will reach 2 to 3 m in height. For generous harvests, it is advisable to plant this tree in a sunny situation.
