Dove-tree
Davidia Involucrata
Description
Dove-tree, or Davidia Involucrata, is an exceptional tree that captivates with its appearance and spectacular flowering. Native to southwest China, this vigorous tree with deciduous foliage is distinguished by its leaves in the shape of large, deeply ribbed hearts, which can measure up to 14 cm long. But the real magic happens in May and June, when the tree is adorned with a unique flowering: small flowers are enhanced by large white bracts, similar to handkerchiefs or immaculate sails that flutter in the wind, creating a visual spectacle striking.
With a height of up to 20 meters and a width of 10 meters, Davidia Involucrata has a rounded crown and can be grown as a stem or in a clump. Its robustness is remarkable: it adapts to all types of soil, resists diseases and harmful insects. Hardy, it tolerates temperatures down to -25°C.
For connoisseur gardeners and collectors, owning a Dove-tree is a dream. If your space allows it, do not hesitate to integrate it into your garden. Planted alone, it will become the focal point of your green space.
