Origins and characteristics

Derived from horticultural crosses in Europe between Asian species (Deutzia scabra, Deutzia purpurascens), Deutzia 'Mont Rose' belongs to the Hydrangeaceae family.
It is valued for its abundant flowering, ease of cultivation and excellent hardiness.

Description and features

Mature height : 1.5 to 2 metres
Mature spread : 1.2 to 1.5 metres
Habit : Upright, rounded, with arching branches
Foliage type : Deciduous; dark green, slightly rough leaves
Flowering period : June to July
Flower description : Clusters of star-shaped flowers; mauve buds turning pink when open, lightly scented and attractive to pollinators
Fruit description : Small decorative capsules with limited ornamental value
Hardiness : Excellent (down to -20 °C)
