They attract thrushes and other passerines, which are fond of them. In the past, the fruits of the Sorbus were harvested when they were ripe, to make jam and brandy.
A small tip for obtaining a beautiful and productive Sorbus Aucuparia is to plant it in a mixture of equal parts of soil, peat and heath.
