The Hippophae rhamnoides "Solo" is particularly appreciated for its beautiful orange berries that appear in autumn and persist throughout the winter on the shrub. The advantage of this Sea Buckthorn is that it is self-fertile, that is to say, it is sufficient to produce these fruits. There is no need to plant male and female shrubs side by side to obtain fruit. The best is to plant it well-exposed to the sun; then you do not need to worry about your shrub because of its high resistance and low water requirement.

In addition to being very aesthetic, the tangy berries produced by sea buckthorn are edible. When their color is close to the orangey red, you can pick them. The best is then to consume them in juice, syrup, or jam or to include them in pies. The berries of Hippophae rhamnoides "Solo" are of great nutritional value because they contain a lot of vitamins, minerals, and omegas and have anti-inflammatory properties.
