Prunus Cistena comes from a cross between Prunus Cerasifera 'Atropurpurea' or 'Pissardii' and Prunus Pumila, it presents a magnificent red purple foliage which gives color to your garden.

From April to May a multitude of small pale pink flowers offer a very nice contrast to the dark foliage of this Purple leaf sand cherry. Over time, the flowers become lighter, almost white, and the foliage darkens to reach chocolate hues in the fall. Even after losing its leaves in winter, this shrub retains great interest thanks to the reddish brown color of its bark and twigs.

Resistant to negative temperatures of -20 ° C, Prunus Cistena will reach a maximum height of 1 to 2 meters for 2 meters wide.
